Fight, fight, fight

Today we faced of in a tournament @1000p in the Tales of X-games.

I played a list with few models, heavy hitting CC.

HQ
Typhus - Warlord
Mortarion (Demon Prince)

Troops
Sq Bobonic with the Rhino Flea
Sq Pneumonic with the Rhino Bacteria

1 Melta in each sq

Heavy
Predator with 2 Lascannons and Autocannon

The tournament was a 3 game setup with scenarios from Fantasy Fanatic 2014 (A Swedish tournament)

1st game:

CSM vs Imperial Fist

Imperials came with 
Land raider - 6 mounted assault terminators
Rhino - Captain and tactical sq
Dreadnought
Scouts

Traded a few shots but i got in close and managed to get both Mortarion and Typhus in CC with the Captain and his tactical sq.

I did also manage to get a fair amount of T.O on my side. Ended in a big victory 19-1

2nd game

CSM vs Orks

Orks had a massive unit of boys with 30 orks and the war boss and a Nob.

2 units of gretchins

A battlewagon with 4 big meks (?)

The scenario had us to chose the objectives (we played the wrong scenario as it turned out later, we blame the small font)

As we reveled our choices none of us had chosen any tactical objectives, just gind and pund. This would be a slaughter feast with lots of CC. 

The CSM set up in cover and waited in the orks. A few shoots flew over the battlefield and my Predator blew up in the first round.. oops.

Then Mortarion went in for a Hail Mary and with a very successful psychic round he massacred the war boss and his entire unit in two rounds.

I was lucky enough to be placed 2:nd after two rounds. Then i faced of with the number one. A tyranid force from hell.

Tyranids:
2 flying hive tyrants with a biljon shots at S6
1 Big monster with flamers
1 Big monster with a huuuge canon
3 Tyranid warriors

This was hell on earth. Not to whine on my opponent, he played well and gave me a good wooping but GW, WTF.

Tyranids as super zooming-monster-flying-twinlinked-shooters and big freaking monster only... 

Silly, pure silly, were are the bloody genstealers!!!

Went down the toilet, Mortarion delivered though and it went to a 6-14 for my opponent. 

Placed 3:d with 39 pts, not bad for a CSM with a old bearded fella playing his 2-4th game sense 2:nd ed. ^^

The Rhino was finished and with the help of a lot of pigment.. Love 'em, makes the vehicle look really aged and used.

Death Guards, Squad Bubonic

Sense I have three sq of Plague Marines, they will be named after the three forms of plague

Plague is a disease caused by Yersinia pestis. There are three major manifestations:
Bubonic plague
Pneumonic plague
Septicemic plague

So it will be:
Sq Bobonic with the Rhino Flea
Sq Pneumonic with the Rhino Bacteria
Sq Septicemic with the Rhino Rat

Why?

I took out my trusty Dremel and went to work and it turned out fairly ok

Then i took the rest of the way too much green stuff i made up for the combi guns and made some bases for the upcoming Plauge Marines.

Obviously some stuff need to go, probably the Bezerks but I'm undecided so far... 

Then some pics on my updated Plauge marines (yes they are nine, but i painted all i had..) and the Rhino: Trusty Old Rusty

I used the hairspray and salt technique and it is a time consuming and for me useless method. I'm not that good with a air brush and its way much easier to use pigments. I went wild and made the Rhino dirty as hell.
Still some stuff to do on the bases and maybe some fine lining on the rusty parts and of course the Warlord Typhus (ordered, not delivered)

Grandfather Nurgle part II

First things first.
This is a jump start on the goal for May, i know. But as it is soon a lot of work hitting me in the face, i need to get a head start!

Salt and hairspray... Crapad00dle!

Tried out a air brush for the first time and it is as the say on some 'learn how to page' If you think of all your hours with a brush, why should you master the air brush from the get go?

Because i WANT to, that's why!

Anyway, learned this by doing it wrong:

Spray on a distance
Use small grained salt or grind your big flakes.
HOT water and a gentle brush
Don't overdo it.
Use rust pigments instead, much easier, less time, less mess...

And when you use pigments, its also a new skill, DAMN IT !

The goal for Tale of X Gamers this May is:
A squad of old renegade miniatures representing Death Guard and a Rhino to transport them. I will try to use the Salt and Hairspray technique for the rust and decay of body, soul and metal.
